Do our Sony Plug & Play Bundles Maintain Harley-Davidson® Factory Handlebar Controls?

by Cliff John September 07, 2018

Harley-Davidson® owners love the convenience of managing their radio functions with their hand control switches. Put it this way - when you hit the on-ramp of your favorite local highway, there's nothing better than being able to simply press the volume up button on your hand control switch to blast your tunes as you're rapidly increasing speed.

It's important to bike owners not to lose this ability when purchasing aftermarket receivers.

That being said, here's the first question we're always asked when a customer is inquiring about our Sony® Plug & Play Bundles:

"Do your Sony Plug & Play Bundles maintain factory handlebar controls?"

The answer to this is simple: Yes.

All of our Sony Plug & Play Bundles, listed below that can now be purchased directly on our website, for your Harley-Davidson motorcycle maintain factory handlebar controls:

The magic component of our Sony Plug & Play Bundles that maintains handlebar controls is the AXXESS Integrate ASWC-1 handlebar control module (pictured below).

Axxess Interface ASWC-1

This magic system is standard in our Sony Plug & Play Bundles and will be programmed specifically for use on your Harley-Davidson '98-'19 model and year.

All of our Sony Plug & Play Bundles are prewired for you. Connections are soldered and shrink-wrapped - no exceptions. Finally, we professionally wrap the harness with tesa® tape. Our bundles are also preloaded in their accompanying dash kit, if applicable, making them literally ready to put in your bike.

Here's a great video that walks through exactly how we prewire all of our bundles. This video is specifically referring to our Sony XAV-AX5000 Plug & Play Bundle for '14-'19 Touring model owners, but the same prewiring process applies to all of our bundles.

Have questions after checking out the video? Give us a call at the shop, 301.825.9007, or submit a contact form below and we’ll gladly help.
